Been a fun week working with kids in the test kitchen. I’m putting the finishing touches on the September enewsletter, which focuses on healthy kids. Of course most kids care a lot more about what looks and tastes good, without worrying about any potential health complications.
Anyway, I had a burger that grown-ups love…but it was a bit sophisticated for some younger palates. We tried a few variations, with quinoa, with hemp seed, with/without sauce, etc.
In the end we’ve got a very thumbs-up, kid-approved recipe–which I’m molding into “nuggets” rather than “burgers.” Big thanks to the five of you!
Tomorrow, Saturday August 22, I’m out at Dr. Todd’s Carnival making layered green smoothies–that recipe got the thumbs up from the test kitchen too! If you’re in the Livonia, MI, area, bring the kids by and get your green mustache on. There will be all the requisite fun fair stuff too: games, dunk tank, and hockey heros the Detroit Red Wings. 36650 Five Mile Rd Livonia, MI
